Urban Orchard Cider Co. has been open on Haywood Road in West Asheville since 2013, offering visitors and locals an unexpected alternative to the widely popular beer scene.
And now, after years of planning, the company has expanded into Asheville's South Slope with a second location.
Housed at 24 Buxton Ave., which used to be a cigar manufacturing facility and later an Eno production facility, Urban Orchard South Slope is now the company's headquarters and production facility. This has allowed the cider company to double production literally overnight.
The new spot had a soft opening Friday, and will remain open throughout the week adhering to the same hours as the original West Asheville location.
The South Slope location offers 20 different ciders on tap and 9 different beers, giving customers the ultimate variety. And if you order a cider flight, you'll get a pint glass for free until this Friday, October 5.
And mark your calendars for the Grand Opening Party/Urban Orchard Cider Co. 5th Anniversary/Halloween Bash on Saturday, October 27. There will be free live music on their outdoor stage/loading dock between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., as well as a dance party, "Fire Flights" and free entertainment.
